Hey everyone!
I'm finally getting around to letting you all know about my birthday day. My apologies for it taking so long, I will let you know why in the not so distant future.
Anyhow.
As most of you will know, I had my 27th birthday on the 29th of June (yay!). It was my first birthday away from family in the UK, which naturally made it very different from the rest of my birthdays. But I was made to feel very special indeed by my wonderful Ben, and dearest Mum sending a box of goodies and cards from people back in the UK. So thankful to have a thoughtful husband, friends and family to make my first birthday as a married lady special!
So what did I get up to? Read on if you'd like to know. This post is quite heavy on the photos, which you may or may not enjoy!
The day kicked off with breakfast in bed brought to me by Ben. Breakfast in bed is always a nice treat! Then I opened Ben's present to me, which was a beautiful planner (see below). I'd asked for one of these specifically so I could keep better track of things whilst he is deployed. I try my best to be organised and having everything written down in the same place is ideal for that. I can keep track of when bills need to be paid and any plans I make. Not to mention create lists and reminders to my hearts content!

Next I opened the box Mum had sent me. It had been sitting in our living area for about a week and a half, and I was longing to see what was inside. I opened some of the gifts that she herself had given me from her and Dad and a shower gel from my brother (all pictured below). Just in case you can't see the small writing, here is everything listed in order they appear below:
- 2 handmade goat's milk soaps with some samples.
- 2 essential oils; 1 lemon and 1 geranium.
- 3 Pukka teas (one of the best organic and ethical tea brands in my opinion!).
- These don't need an introduction... but Cadbury's creme eggs ladies and gentleman.
- A weekly devotional by the well known Christian author Francine Rivers.
- 1 divine smelling shower gel from Lush.
In addition to this Mum had included some birthday cards from some of my friends and family from the UK. For how last minute she said it was, there were certainly quite a few. Thankful for all those that were able to get a card to her in time! I took a picture of some of them below.

After a Skype call with Mum and a chilled out day. Ben and I went out for a couple of games of bowling on the base, and then went out for a yummy meal at an Indian restaurant in Valdosta. We took a few pictures of our outing.

After we came back home for dinner we sat down to watch an Indian Jones film. Both Ben and I enjoy those films because they're so adventurous and humorous! Needless to say I felt very loved after all this treatment I received. Thank you so much to everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday with calls, cards and messages. I appreciate you all so much!
I hope you enjoyed this post. Even if it was just to have a nosy about what people gave me! I wonder if any of you have had a birthday recently or will be having one soon? Let me know what you'll be doing for yours in the comments below.
Until next time folks!
Kathryn.
